Suitable for kids and adults; for history fans, we singled out heroic figures and big medieval battles. First, we will visit Omiš which became famous by Omiš pirates – their fortresses and underwater walls which were built for attack and fast retrieval into the mouth of the Cetina River, protecting the town from foreign invaders.
You will hear interesting stories about their adventures and climb to the Mirabela fortress with spectacular views over the city and sea. Then, we will drive to Klis fortress. It was the home of Croatian medieval kings, but also the Venetian and Ottoman armies. So, it was the place where empires clashed. It is most famous for its rebels ‘Uskoci’ who fought against the Ottoman army. By the way, it is also a great viewpoint to see all of Split’s area.
