Plitvice National Park is Croatia’s best-known natural wonder, visited by almost one million people every year. A three-hour drive from Split is worth it; the wide area with 20 kilometers of paths around the lakes and cascades represents the biggest open museum in honor of Mother Nature.
Upper and Lower lakes, big and small ones, the labyrinth of wooden paths, small oases, and wide surfaces, little cascades, and the Big Waterfall 30 meters high… On foot, by train, and by boat – let me lead you through the water and forest magic. And we won’t skip local food either.
The most comprehensive and interesting tour of 4 hours includes 2 kilometers of wooden path with steps and obstacles, so it requires minimum physical abilities.
The tour could be adjusted and reduced. But, unfortunately, for those categories, certain parts of the park could be unavailable.
At the entrance, and inside the park (on the halfway), there are restaurants with fast food, snacks, and drinks. Also, you have a souvenir shop inside and very good restaurants with local food near the park.
This tour also includes boat and train ride in the price of the ticket.
To the Plitvice Lakes, we have a little less than a 3-hour drive through the coastal and then beautiful mountainous landscape. The departure is at 8 AM. Plitvice is a vast area that offers several ways to explore; the most optimal one is the 4-hour tour. It includes a boat ride across the big lake and a ferry ride on the way back to the parking space. There is an additional free time of one hour for souvenirs or photography. The tour usually concludes in one of the restaurants with local specialties, and the return to Split is around 8 PM.
